Events for TUM newcomers
Fit to start your studies in winter 2022
Are you a Bachelor or Master student and are just starting your studies at the TUM? To make your start perfect, we offer introductory events together with the student council.
Study Introduction Days
To make it easier for you to get started at the Technical University of Munich, the Student Council for Maths, Physics and Informatics (MPI) organizes the Study Introduction Days (SET) for Bachelor and Master students. Attend our welcome event, information events, campus tours and pub crawls, and get to know your university, the city, and your fellow students right from the start!
The SET will take place from October 13 to 17, 2022.
Events of the Department of Mathematics
For first year students of the Bachelor in Mathematics, we organize Lehr- und Lernformen (L&L; forms of teaching and learning). In a trial lecture and first exercises, you learn how to follow-up lectures and edit exercises. Student tutors show suitable solution strategies, and you can make initial contacts at the Department of Mathematics.
In addition, you have the opportunity to take mathematics preparatory courses in the fields of mathematics, physics, informatics, electrical and information technology, mechanical engineering as well as civil engineering and surveying, which will optimally prepare you for your studies.
Events for international students
You come from abroad and start your studies at TUM in the winter semester? TUM's Information Sessions are specifically aimed at internationals in their first semester and offer you important and practical information even before you arrive at your place of study. The Welcome Winter takes place from September 5 to 9, 2022.
For you as a new member of the TUM family, a new and inspiring phase of their lives begins. President Thomas F. Hofmann warmly welcomes you to our university – with the first-years’ event "Welcome@TUM". The first-years’ event will take place on October 17, 2022 at 17:00 in the open air on the square facing the Department Building Mathematics & Informatics at Garching Campus. Simultaneously, the event will be streamed live on this website.
