TUM still Germany's best university
QS World University Ranking

In the prestigious "QS World University Ranking", the Technical University of Munich (TUM) has risen up to 50th place and is thus ranked as Germany's best university for the 6th time in a row.
Among the 4 best technical universities in Europe
To compile its rankings, QS Quacquarelli Symonds, a British specialist in the analysis of higher education institutions, conducts surveys in science and business on the quality of universities. In addition, QS assesses
- the citation frequency of publications,
- the faculty/student ratio and
- the proportions of international students and staff.
In the latest issue, TUM has moved up 5 places to number 50 and is again the best-ranked German university. The top positions in the rankings are held by US universities. In Europe, TUM is one of the only 4 technical universities in the top 50 along with ETH Zurich, Imperial College London and EPF Lausanne.
TUM Mathematics lead Germany-wide
In the "QS World University Ranking by Subject" TUM Mathematics 2020 rank first among German universities. In the overall field of natural sciences, the TUM is ranked 28th.
