In February 2022, our Data Science certificate program will start at the TUM Institute for LifeLong Learning. "Data Science" introduces modern computational methods to manage, process, and visualize data and to communicate their results.

A virtual info session will be held on 25 November 2021, from 9:00 to 9:45. It will provide you an in-depth presentation of the Data Science Certificate program.

Content and schedule

The program combines the latest research results with findings and challenges from practice. Experienced lecturers from our Department demonstrate the relevance of the developed skills in selected application examples. Participants will learn about

  • fundamental statistical principles,
  • broadly useful statistical methods,
  • state-of-the-art prediction methods from machine learning, and
  • optimization and randomization tools that help them to tackle large-scale data-analytic problems.

The hybrid format combines networking opportunities on-campus with digital elements. The course is divided into six modules that take place over eight days from 24 February to 8 April 2022. Prof. Mathias Drton and Professor Matthias Scherer are scientifically responsible.

After successful completion of the final exam, participants will receive a certificate from the Technical University of Munich. You will find further information on Data Science certificate program.
