Annual Meeting 2019: Schedule

The meeting will begin on Thursday, September 12th with registration at 10:30. The talks will start at 11am. The meeting ends after lunch on Friday, September 13th at approximately 14:00.

The full schedule can be downloaded here, abstracts will follow shortly before the meeting.

Locations

All talks take place at the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) on the TUM Campus, Forschungszentrum Garching.

Conference Dinner: There will be a conference dinner on Thursday evening at the Garchinger Augustiner, a traditional Bavarian pub and restaurant. Please register for this on the registratiion form. There will be no dinner fee to be paid in advance, as the dinner takes place on a self-paying basis.

Accommodation for the conference

At the Hotel König Ludwig II and the Hoyacker Hof, both close to the U6 tube station "Garching", you can book a room using the reservation code GAMM2019 (per telephone or email).

Getting to the IAS / Garching Campus

The meeting takes place at the Institute for Advanced Studies of the Technischen Universität München on the Garching Forschungszentrum Campus, approx. 70m from the U6 tube station and bus stop Garching Forschungszentrum.

Public transport:

From Munich city centre take the underground line U6, which departs every 10 minutes to the final station "Garching Forschungszentrum". Use the day ticket "München XXL".

From Munich's main train station (Hbf) first take any S-Bahn train to the stop "Marienplatz" and change there for the U6 to Garching Forschungszentrum. Use the day ticket "München XXL".

From Munich Airport take either the S-Bahn S8 as far as Ismaning and then the Bus Nr. 230 to Garching Forschungszentrum or the S-Bahn S1 as far as Neufahrn and then the Bus Nr. 690 to Garching Forschungszentrum. A day ticket "Tageskarte Außenraum" is the cheapest ticket for this journey, unless you need to travel on to the city center in the evening, in which case you should buy a day ticket "Tageskarte Gesamtnetz".

From the hotels in Garching take a U6 tube from the tube station Garching, departing every 10 minutes to the final station "Garching Forschungszentrum" in just 4 minutes. For each trip you need the ticket "Kurzstrecke".

With the car

The Garching Forschungszentrum campus is located just off the A9 motorway, at the exit "Garching Nord".

There is free parking on a large, gravelled car park to the left of the Ludwig-Prantl-Straße when entering the campus site from the motorway. From here you need to plan roughly 10-15 minutes walk to the IAS.

Alternatively you can park at your hotel and take the tube from there (see above).

Online Registration

Registration is compulsory. Please register using our webform by 26th July 2019.
