Inhalt: Evolutionary dynamics is the study of the mathematical principles according to which life evolves. In our seminar "Evolutionary models" we will review several work, which consider different mathematical approaches models describing evolutionary processes. Mathematically, many models in this context are based either on evolutionary game dynamics or on adaptive dynamics approaches. Often, ODEs respectively PDEs form the basis, but also stochastic and agent-based models are possible to use. Apart from introductory articles to the basic approaches, we will consider applications to different areas, e.g. evolutionary dynamics of cancer, evolution of therapy resistance and virulence. We also plan to discuss the underlying meaning of the model outcomes, e.g. how to interpret "evolutionary suicide" (evolution drives some species to extinction).
