INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF APPLIED MATHEMATICS (ISAM)
ISAM is the Graduate Center of the Mathematics Department at TU Munich. Its mission is to train a new generation of mathematicians up to doctoral standards, building upon the longstanding track record of TU Munich as a major center in applied and interdisciplinary mathematics.
Munich faculty members are distinguished leaders at the intersecting point of mathematics with physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, medicine, economics, and finance. Outstanding scientists include holders of the Leibniz prize of DFG, the Max Planck Prize of the Max Planck Society, the Whitehead Prize of the London Mathematical Society, and the Medida Prix of the German Ministry of Education and Research.
The department also runs the pioneering fast-track elite undergraduate-to-PhD program
TopMath.
